Prince crouched low in the grass, his eyes scanning the land in front of him, searching for the prey of his liking. He knew there was members of the pack to do the hunting for him and the other members, but preferred to eat prey that he had caught himself. To him it was the thrill of the hunt that made food worth eating. His skilled eyes zoned in on a elder buck in the herd. It moved with a hitch in its gate, an old injury that had grown arthritic with age. The buck was old, and had seen better years, but he must have been strong to survive through the years with the many wolves in these mountains. The way Prince figured it was that this buck had lived long enough and it was time for him to pay back the universe for his long, full life. That was how Prince selected prey, by justifying the kill. He creeped forward, testing the air every once in a while to make sure his scent was not traveling on the wind. When he was close enough he prepared for the attack, searching for his target on the giant bucks body. He launched himself at the buck and latched onto his neck, bringing him to the ground before he even knew what was happening. Prince tried to make the kill fast, he didn't like it when his prey suffered. Every sound the buck made, calling to his herd to come back to him made Prince's heart throb. He knew it was strange, a wolf sympathetic to his prey, but e couldn't help it. When the buck lay still and all signs of life were gone from the bucks eyes, Prince released him, taking in the full size of his buck. His stomach suddenly rumbled with hunger and all remorse for the kill was gone, replaced with the full fledged hunger of a wolf.
